It is a pretty devastating indictment of the world of BigLaw firms.
Certainly in-house practice is one route a dissatisfied BigLaw practitioner can take. I'd recommend heading in the direction of NewLaw firms such as Halebury which is a much more flexible and satisfying way to practice law.
There are plenty of careers involving the law that will not make you crazy—and people you can work with that will not make you crazy. The key is to find that job.
